So many things have been written about the benefits and aspects of motivation and the impact it has on your life. Sometimes it is interesting to see where the fruits of motivation come from and how they are generated.
We all have places and people we can go to to seek motivation. What those situations are and how they come to be can be hard to describe. But the reality is, having these places is the key. Knowing where to go and what questions to ask are important aspects of finding true motivation.
Sometimes in our darkest places, we forget these resources and then we just dwell in the darkness, not knowing how to come out of it. We must remember that there are always places to go where a helping hand is offered and then having the courage to reach up and grab that hand. Not everyone is willing to extend their hand to us, so it is up to us to seek out those who are willing and capable of being Inspirations in our life.
Other people can be our source of motivation, whether they know it or not, even if you do not seek them, are there. Sometimes it is just interacting with people and having a friendly conversation can be enough to generate energy in ourselves when our tanks are running low. For many people, knowing how to engage other people is something that we tell ourselves is hard to do and we cannot do it, but it all starts with one line and that line is usually, “Tell me about yourself”. Showing interest in other people generates conversation. Conversation generates energy and engagement that becomes critical in renewing ourselves and finding motivation in conversations that we never knew was even there.
Are you prepared to motivate someone? You may think to yourself, “I am not able to motivate anybody because I am the one who is always running out of motivation”. As we commented in our previous section, people motivate one another just by an interaction, or a kind word, or a small innocuous greeting or conversation. Motivation does not have to be a two-hour workshop, or a seminar led by a professional you paid for. Your attitude toward motivation can be simply providing an opening for someone to find you and to glean some energy from you. It does not matter if you feel like you have nothing to give, you are always giving something.
People are not the only source of motivation. There are such things as posters, quotes, and physical reminders that we can place in various locations. They will remind us on a regular basis to seek out those things that truly motivate us. The title of this blog is Blocks to Motivation. I keep these blocks on my desk on a regular basis so I can look at them and remember who I am and what my purpose is. It also helps you to stay aligned to who you are. As you can see in the picture, one of my favorites is, “Focus on What You Want, But Never Forget to Be Grateful for What You Already Have.”
Another one of my favorites is, “Think About Things Differently.” If I had to summarize what my thought process has been for my entire life, it is this quote. I always look for the path not taken or rarely taken. And then think, “How can I do things differently?” Even if it is a standard path, I want to see what can be different. Now apply this to your life. You will find adventure and joy in the result.
So, start building your block soon to remind yourself confergussongroup.com/store.htmlstantly of the motivation you have within. Say “hi” to people wherever you are and enjoy their energy.
